Program features:

The DNK module calculates the heating of air by steam, starting from superheating condition to the supercooled liquid region.

The following heat exchanger arrangements used for the state changing from superheated steam to subcooled liquid can be selected:

1. Five series-connected heat exchangers: Withdrawal of the excessive heating enthalpy by a heat exchanger.

2. Four series-connected heat exchangers: Withdrawal of the excessive heating enthalpy by condensate injection.

3. Three series-connected heat: State changing of saturated steam to supercooled liquid.

4. Four series-connected heat exchangers: State changing of saturated steam to supercooled liquid.

5. Four series-connected heat exchangers: State changing of saturated steam to supercooled liquid; Steam feeding in two different heat exchangers.

6. Six series-connected heat exchangers: State changing of saturated steam to supercooled liquid; Steam feeding in two different heat exchangers. Two separate post-vapour and condensate steps.

7. Five series-connected heat exchangers: Withdrawal of the excessive heating enthalpy by a heat exchanger. Additional feeding of auxiliary steam.

8. Seven series-connected heat exchangers: Withdrawal of the excessive heating enthalpy by a heat exchanger. Additional feeding of auxiliary steam. Two separate post-vapour and condensate steps.

9. Three series-connected heat exchangers: Withdrawal of the excessive heating enthalpy by a heat exchanger. Deduction of the condensate as boiling liquid.

10. Saturated steam condenses in steam section. Condensate is supercooled in condensate section

11. Four series-connected heat exchangers: Withdrawal of the excessive heating enthalpy by a heat exchanger. State change from saturated steam to subcooled liquid.

12. Six series-connected heat exchangers: Withdrawal of the excessive heating enthalpy by a heat exchanger. Additional 2 external steam feeds

Enthalpy balance sheets:

The steam mass inlet flows, the outlet condensate mass flows as well as the air inlet and air outlet temperatures are calculated separately for each heat exchanger. Using the module H2O, the saturated steam pressure or the saturated steam temperature is determined for every heat exchanger based on the input of one of these two properties. The H2O module also provides the enthalpies of the supercooled liquid. The specific heat capacities of the air are obtained with the help of the LUFT (air).module

Heat transfer:

The logarithmic temperature differences for every heat exchanger are calculated and shown. This temperature difference is multiplied by the heat transfer coefficient and heat transfer area. The resulting term is shown to support the choice of the required heat exchanger.
