The theory is based on the correlations found in the VDI Heat Atlas, the HEDH (Heat Exchanger Design Handbook), and various research papers.

Program features

The KOND program is based on the WTS program and needs that program for the calculation. Therefore, the operation of KOND is almost identical.

The KOND program serves for the calculation of shell-and-tube condensers with desuperheating, condensation and subcooling zones. No subcooling of the condensate is calculated for horizontal condensers with shell-side condensation. The condensation can either take place around the tubes or in the tubes but is restricted pure vapours (no mixtures).

KOND can only calculate condensers with one tube side pass.
