Hydrochloric acid (HCL)

HCL module

Calculation of properties of hydrochloric acid

For many chemical and process engineering applications a knowledge of the thermodynamics of aqueous systems is required. The composition of the vapor/liquid phase distribution is necessary for thermal equipment design.

Program features:

The HCL module generates the phase equilibria and properties of hydrochloric acid. The following properties can be determined as a function of pressure, temperature and composition:

  • Density
  • Specific heat capacity
  • Dynamic viscosity
  • Kinematic viscosity
  • Thermal conductivity
  • Prandtl number
  • Thermal diffusivity
  • Surface tension
  • Coefficient of thermal expansion
  • Saturation pressure
  • Partial pressure of water and acid

The properties data are generated from tables of experimental data
